Full-time; 40 hours per week. Monday-Friday

Provides basic medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician.  Utilizes professional medical skills to meet a variety of health care needs, with ambulatory care as primary focus.  Interacts with a variety of health care professionals and security staff in a correctional environment.

• Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility.
• Assesses inmate patient in a variety of settings.
• Identifies inmate patient health problems and prescribes treatment under direction of a physician.
• Implements medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by the physician.
• Provides education to inmate patient, health care and correctional staff.
• Documents all health care contacts.
• Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills.
• Follows security regulations for keys, sharps and controlled medications.
• Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate.
• Adheres to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.

• Qualified candidates will be a licensed Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Illinois
