Under the direct supervision of the designated Wexford Site Manager and Director of Nursing, LPN is responsible for assisting in the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation; Under the guidance of Registered Nurses, directs and guides patient teaching activities commensurate with education and demonstrated competencies JOB RELATIONS SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Direct supervision from designated Wexford Manager, Limited supervision from the Medical Director, Intermittent direct supervision from Staff Physician, Direct supervision from MDOC Personnel as appropriate
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None
RELATIONSHIPS: Works effectively with patients, patient families as appropriate, medical and nursing staff, security staff at all levels, and administrative and support staff (i.e., pharmacy, laboratory, etc.)

Under the supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse, performs non-professional nursing care duties in the assessment of the physical, psychological and social dimensions of patients in a correctional facility. Assists in planning and individual treatment programs by utilizing available resources in planning care and consults with registered nurses, physicians and correctional officers. Assists in implementing individual treatment programs in the Health Care Unit as necessary.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS OFFICE: Standard medical setting in a correctional facility, which includes daily interfacing with inmates, correctional staff, and health care personnel.
TRAVEL: No travel required. EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS LICENSING: Currently licensed as an LPN in the state of Mississippi
CERTIFICATION: Current CPR certification
EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing
