| Overview: |
Provides basic medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician; Utilizes professional medical skills to meet a variety of health care needs, with ambulatory care as primary focus; Interacts with a variety of health care professionals and security staff in a correctional environment.

| Responsibilities: |
Responds to and initiates care for medical emergencies throughout the facility. Assesses inmate patient in a variety of settings. Identifies inmate patient health problems and prescribes treatment under direction of a physician. Implements medical care utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by the physician. Provides education to inmate patient, health care and correctional staff. Documents all health care contacts. Adheres to safety and security policies and participates in disaster drills. Follows security regulations for keys, sharps and controlled medications. Delegates to and supervises other team members as appropriate. Adheres to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.

| Qualifications: |
Qualified candidates will be a licensed Physician's Assistant or Nurse Practitioner in the state of Illinois.
